I didn’t quite catch whether the Elder’s name was Lee, or Statesman, or Ardo, or Berry, or Flower, for the three wanted to engage me in conversation. Which I didn’t mind too much, for while I know something of their religion they know nothing of mine, and when I tried to explain that I was walking the streets as an observational nerd from outer space, sent to study the behaviour of the world’s inhabitants they didn’t get it at all, they kept suggesting that I was on ‘vacation’, which I persistently tried to explain was not the case at all.
