British and Italian Women

I am looking at some women on the beach in Italy. That woman there! what makes her so obviously British?

Maybe its the haircut – hair tucked behind the ears; does an Italian woman ever wear her hair tucked behind the ears? Or hair blowing about in the wind? Or is it the glasses – rimless? Or the big pink nose? Or that she’s reading a book sucking her fingers? A one-piece swimming costume?

In contrast, the Italian mum to my left has her hair tied in a bandana and is wearing sunglasses. Her hair is tucked into her bandana, not behind the ears. And of course a red bikini . . .
