Odd Street Names

On my walk through the streets of Wismar I noticed some street names that grabbed my attention:

Tittentaster Strasse

Tittentaster translates as ‘Tit Squeezer’, though I don’t think there’s really a street called this, I think it is a publicity stunt by the Stadt Hamburg bar to advertise their cellar bar of the same name.

Bademutter Strasse

Bademutter is an old German word meaning midwife. Midwife Street. There aren’t many of them about.

ABC Strasse

ABC Street. Well, why not? There’s an ABC Street in Hamburg too.

Finding these odd street names followed my having found an odd bar.
